Marketability March Study Tour – flying high with some of Australia highest integrated senior living communities

Late March, Marketability hosted some of its clients on a study tour, visiting some of Australia’s highest and most impressive integrated senior living communities.

In Adelaide, our team received an exclusive peek at the magnificent 20 storey U City Tower, blending residential, retirement, commercial and social and affordable uses all in a sustainable and vibrant community. Later that day, we were impressed with integration of the retirement living and aged care at Southern Cross’s Carmelite Village, in particular the activation of its thriving health and wellbeing studio.

In Melbourne, we visited the premium 18 level The Grace apartments by Australian Unity, with its spectacular views from its rooftop tower of its the city skyline and F1 track at Albert Park, as well as Calvary Kooyong precinct, a landmark retirement living, health and wellness community, with a newly opened premium retirement community, aged care, GP clinic, and other allied health care services.

In the Gold Coast, it was great to be reacquainted with the prestigious Henley on Broadwater, where owner Patrick Smith shared his passion for the industry in his unique lifestyle and supported living community. Quite remarkable that over 80% of his residents aged 85 years of age are regular members of the Henley Health & Wellness club.

In Sydney, we visited the incredible M by Montefiore in Randwick, which has integrated premium retirement living, aged care and allied health services with a level of style and distinction.

The Marketability March Tour was a whirlwind of fun, learning, and making new connections. The diverse disciplines of those on tour allowed us to take away some key learnings such as the trend towards right-sizing and building more 3 bedrooms, the importance of activating health and wellness spaces, and the significance of planning community spaces and staff processes to activate them. We also learned the importance of choice in financial options and how to treat capital gains with premium apartments in high-end locations, the right integration of living, assisted living, and care in one’s offering, and the quality of customer-facing staff as part of the overall customer experience.
